FAQ

Do the Splash pools have to be professionally installed?

Absolutely not! Splash pools have been installed by homeowners for over 30 years now. As a matter of fact, the Splash pools were designed as a DIY pool. The average time for installing your pool is 2 hours, with 2 people working on it. With the larger pools, obviously it will take a little longer, just due to the size. The fill time will vary with the capability of your water supply.

Do the nails of the dogs cut the material of the Splash pool?

This is one of the most asked questions that we get when dealing with the great people in the canine industry. Whether it be a small pool that is set up permanently for rehab and therapy, or one of the 21 x 61 pools that handle the dock diving dogs, the answer is the same. Can we “guarantee” that no dog will ever cut the membrane of our pool? Of course not! What we can tell you, is that after 20 years of these pools serving in every capacity imaginable, we have yet to have our first call stating that a dog, or any animal for that matter, has caused damage to the pool.

Is the water easy to maintain in the Splash pool?

Taking care of water in a Splash pool is no different than the care of water in any swimming pool. Any local pool store should be able to test your water and make recommendations on chemicals for your pool. Since water varies so much due to geographical location, we always recommend a local source for testing your water. They will be very familiar with your local needs in maintain your pool water correctly.

Does cartridge, or sand filtration system work best with the Splash pool?

The answer to that question is yes. You need to choose the system that will work best for your particular location and setup. In some areas of the country sand is a preference, and in some areas the cartridge system is the preferred setup. With the Splash pool, you can use either one. We sell both sand and cartridge, and both systems have worked very well with our pools for many years. The best advice we can give you is to spend your money wisely on your filtration system. A good system is key to a clean pool, and easy maintenance, so you can’t buy a lesser valued system, and expect it to clean like one that costs more. In some instances, pools are only set up for a few days while at a show, qualifier, event, and so no filtration is necessary. That is completely up to you to decide what works best for you. The Splash pool gives you lots of options!

Do the Splash pools work well with salt systems?

This is another easy one to answer. Absolutely! Salt systems of various brands have been used in our pools with great success. The salt system makes the maintenance of the water even easier, and it makes the water less harsh since the chlorine levels are significantly lower. We recommend sticking with the major manufacturers that have proven systems.

Can heaters be used with the Splash pools?

Yes, heaters can be used with our pools. Heaters are a great way to start your swimming season a little earlier and extend it a little longer. This is another one that we recommend contacting a local installer to get their advice. In some areas electric is the way to go, and in some areas natural gas is the way to go. Your local installer will know the answer to this question, and he will be able to recommend a reputable manufacturer for you. The Splash pool comes with our own hoses that are much different than what comes with other above-ground pools. Our hose is much thicker and can handle more heat than the standard blow-molded hose that comes with most above-ground pools.
